Requirements

  • High School Graduate General Studies or GED General Studies
  • Satisfactory completion of a formal Medical Assistant program pursuant to the Division of Allied Health Professions or military training that is equivalent to an accredited Medical Assistant program(determination by Dignity Health Medical Foundation H.R. department in conjunction with the State Division of Allied Health Professions.)
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Nice To Haves

  • Six (6) month's experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Assistant preferred., upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Proactively prepare patient charts
  • Assist with patients exams or procedure
  • Relay physician instructions
  • Administer physician-directed medication
  • Perform accurate vital sign measurements
  • Manage medical records (charts and EMR)
  • Communicate patient concerns to providers
  • Collaborate with physicians, insurance, and pharmacies for medication authorizations and refills
