Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year in a medical setting
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Strong computer and technological skills, active listening, and clear communication
  • Minimum requirement of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
  • Proven experience working as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients, and families
  • Willingness to take initiative and responsibility for actions
  • Open to constructive criticism and feedback when necessary
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and third-party vendors
  • Understanding of medical terminology and electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of medical procedures, equipment, and instruments
  • Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team
  • Competence with common PC applications including Internet, Email, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • completion of a certified Medical Assistant program is preferred
  • experience in Urgent Care is preferred
  • Experience with EKGs and Phlebotomy preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to examination rooms, take medical histories, and perform vitals
  • Conduct basic lab tests such as urinalysis, blood draws, and COVID swabs
  • Administer medications under the supervision of a medical provider
  • Greet patients, handle phone calls, verify insurance, and manage appointments
  • Ensure the clinic is tidy and well-stocked, and support your co-workers to provide the best patient experience
