About The Position

The Medical Assistant works on the OB/GYN team at Cleveland Clinic Lakewood Family Health Center, helping create a welcoming and comfortable environment for patients, families, and visitors. The role supports gynecologic care through medication management, patient monitoring, clinical procedures, and administrative work to help ensure positive health outcomes. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with shifts scheduled between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., plus two Saturdays per month from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Requirements

• Graduate from an approved Medical Assisting Program, or have military training as a hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W), or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross; applicants without certification must obtain it during the new-hire period.
• Completion of a clinical externship or extensive clinical experience.

Nice To Haves

• Medical Assisting Certification.
• Successful completion of a Cleveland Clinic externship.

Responsibilities

• Assist with screenings and treatments by gathering and updating health-maintenance information.
• Identify medication changes and update allergy information.
• Collect specimens, perform tests, and document patient care.
• Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
• Maintain equipment, medical supplies, and examination areas.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
