About The Position

Medical Assistant – Harris Regional Medical Center is part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network. This role is within a busy chronic pain management office that focuses more on interventional treatments than medication. The patients are primarily adults managing long-term pain conditions. The Medical Assistant will support providers with patient care, assist with procedures, and ensure efficient daily operations. The ideal candidate takes initiative, pays close attention to detail, and works well within a team-oriented environment. The office is committed to providing personalized and high-quality healthcare in a friendly and welcoming environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), within 90 days of hire.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous medical office experience, preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of provider, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
  • Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
  • Monitors and communication regarding changes in patient condition.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Maintains examination areas.
  • Maintains equipment and medical supplies, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
  • Completes other tasks, within scope of position, as delegated by the practice leads, supervisors, managers or Market Director.
