About The Position
Community Medical & Dental Care, Inc., a fast-paced community health center in Rockland County, is hiring a Medical Assistant. The role involves welcoming patients, gathering and documenting patient information, taking and recording vital signs, protecting medical records and confidentiality, and maintaining exam-room inventory and cleanliness. The center serves a medically underserved population and provides linguistically diverse and culturally sensitive care. The position may be part-time or full-time; the posting also describes a full-time opening.
Requirements
- Previous medical assistant experience.
- Strong computer skills and fluency in EMR systems.
- Friendly personality and ability to connect with clients and staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to relate sensitively to a culturally diverse clientele.
Nice To Haves
- Availability to work Sundays and some evenings is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and escort them to treatment rooms promptly, courteously, and helpfully.
- Interview patients, record medical history, and confirm the purpose of their visit.
- Measure and record blood pressure, weight, temperature, and pulse in patient charts.
- Safeguard medical records and maintain confidentiality; accurately complete diagnostic and procedural coding.
- Maintain inventory and cleanliness in exam rooms.
