Requirements

  • Education: Associates or Certificate in Medical Assisting from an accredited facility.
  • Experience: One year of healthcare experience preferred; not required.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills; Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Relationships: Ability to build and effectively manage relationships with business leaders, coworkers, and clients. Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Culture: Good judgment, impeccable ethics, and a strong team player; desire to succeed and grow in a fast-paced, demanding and entrepreneurial company.

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical and Administrative experience preferred.
  • Computer and Medent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative functions including not limited to verifying patient demographics, insurance, and registration for visits and collection of payment.
  • Prepare and complete prior authorizations for diagnostic testing utilizing insurance.
  • Management of triages, inbound faxes, referrals, and routing of documents.
  • Performance of chart preparation.
  • Assist with patient calls and routing appropriately.
  • Conducting no show calls and follow up for testing and appointments.
  • Prepare patients for provider examinations including, not limited to vitals, BMI, blood pressure, height, weight, and pulse. Verify history and reason for visit.
  • Conducting point of care testing, including but not limited to glucose finger sticks, venipuncture, EKG, pregnancy tests, Covid testing and urine testing.
  • Perform dressing changes and wound care as appropriate.
  • Manage clinical supplies and inventory, checking expirations, and stocking rooms as indicated.
  • Completion of forms as indicated and scheduling of patients.
  • Monitor and assist with quality measures and tracking.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Collaboration: The Medical Assistant will work together as an inter-professional, interdependent team in patients' best interests to support comprehensive care delivery.
  • Knowledge: The Medical Assistant will stay up to date on the latest clinical and practice guidelines.
  • Culture: The Medical Assistant will maintain a productive, collaborative, safe and inclusive work environment among the entire Care Medical Practice community.
