They monitor and complete clinical integration/quality improvement measures, perform laboratory procedures, and assist healthcare professionals with procedures. The Medical Assistant administers routine medications, follows through with necessary requests for procedures or tests, and communicates effectively with patients and the healthcare team to ensure smooth clinic flow. They may also perform basic and advanced clinical support tasks based on competency and specialty, under clinical supervision. This role requires the ability to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development principles.
