About The Position

Marathon Health is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join their care team. This role is crucial in delivering excellent patient care and providing an exceptional guest experience. Medical Assistants at Marathon Health oversee the full spectrum of the patient experience, functioning as both a Medical Receptionist and performing clinical responsibilities. The position involves working closely with a primary care physician in a unique healthcare model.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care.
  • Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or other related program.
  • CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date.
  • National or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred. MA certification or registration is required for employment in States where certification/registration is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to rooms and ensure exam rooms are thoroughly cleaned and stocked.
  • Review previous medical information and gather updated health information from patients.
  • Take vitals, perform blood draws, give injections, bandage wounds, and assist with procedures.
  • Work with contracted labs for additional tests.
  • Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations under the direction of the Provider.
  • Partner with other care team members to develop individual patient plans of care and address gaps in care.
  • Perform front desk duties, including patient scheduling, medical record requests and abstraction, documentation, coordinating specialist visits and referrals, check-in, and check-out.
  • Record accurate and pertinent data in the medical record according to documentation guidelines.
  • Process test results and provide timely results to patients.
  • Participate in patient outreach to drive engagement.
  • Maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment for treatments.
