About The Position

The Medical Assistant (MA) provides essential clinical and administrative support to nursing staff and leadership within a substance use treatment setting. This role helps ensure efficient daily operations, high-quality patient care, and a safe, organized clinical environment. The MA works collaboratively with nurses, providers, and leadership to support patient needs across the units.

Requirements

  • CCMA certification required
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking and time management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures

Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and collect lab specimens as ordered for patients
  • Obtain and document vital signs for patients on all CSS units
  • Conduct urine specimen collection, dip testing, and accurate documentation
  • Triage patient needs and communicates appropriately to nursing staff
  • Provide floor coverage during nursing breaks, ensuring continuity of care
  • Support nurses with day-to-day clinical tasks and patient care needs
  • Communicate with pharmacies to obtain updates on patient medications
  • Compile and maintain accurate lists of medications requiring reordering
  • Notify nursing staff of urgent medication-related needs or discrepancies
  • Restock clinical supplies and ensure adequate inventory on the unit
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of nursing stations and clinical areas
  • Assist in creating a safe, efficient, and well-functioning care environment
  • Communicate supply needs and inventory concerns to nursing leadership
  • Assist with staffing coordination, including contacting nurses for coverage
  • Support administrative tasks such as printing, laminating, and organizing materials
  • Complete delegated chart audits and follow up with staff as directed
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned by nursing leadership
