About The Position
Alabama-based dermatology practice specializing in skin cancer surgery, reconstruction, and prevention, as well as medical dermatology. Led by Dr. Raj Patel, a double-board-certified, fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeon, the practice focuses on delivering the highest-quality care with precision and confidence. Our team is seeking a Medical Assistant for a dermatology career. The ideal Medical Assistant candidate is positive, energetic, intelligent, highly dependable, organized, and can multitask.
Requirements
- 2 years of combined education/experience as a substitute for minimum experience
- Hands-on experience in a clinical setting
- Experience with EMR
Nice To Haves
- Medical Assistant (MA) Certification
- CPR and First Aid Certification
- Dermatology or surgical experience
Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms for each appointment, ensuring cleanliness, and stock them with necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies.
- Engage and focus on the patient experience.
- Responsible for gathering patient information, informed consent, and payment information
- Assist the physician with minor procedures, patient charting, uploading imaging, and scheduling patient follow-up appointments.
- Provide detailed post-care instructions to the patient and/or family members.
- Accurately complete pathology and laboratory requisitions as required
- Complete logs and send specimens to the laboratory
- Perform other tasks and duties as directed
