MEDICAL ASSISTANT OUTLYING
About The Position
Sun Life Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for its Outlying Sites to support providers and ensure smooth patient care. The role involves assisting with patient preparation, examinations, immunizations, lab testing, and phlebotomy. The Medical Assistant will also educate patients on medications, preventative care, and self-management, while maintaining accurate documentation, clinic standards, and equipment readiness. Additionally, the position includes front desk responsibilities such as check-in/out, payment processing, and scheduling. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a meaningful difference in patients' lives within a supportive and collaborative team environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- CPR certification required (can be obtained during orientation)
Nice To Haves
- Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA) preferred; eligible for certification pay differential
- 2–5 years’ Medical Assistant experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Support providers and ensure smooth patient care across multiple sites
- Assist with patient prep, exams, immunizations, lab testing, and phlebotomy
- Educate patients on medications, preventative care, and self-management goals
- Maintain accurate documentation, clinic standards, and equipment/supply readiness
- Provide front desk support, including check-in/out, payments, and scheduling
- Act as a professional liaison between patients, providers, and other facilities
