About The Position

Marathon Health is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join their care team. This role is crucial in delivering excellent patient care and ensuring an exceptional guest experience. Medical Assistants at Marathon Health manage the full spectrum of the patient experience, functioning as both a Medical Receptionist and performing clinical duties. The position involves working closely with a primary care physician in a unique model that enhances the healthcare experience and drives cost savings.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care.
  • Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or other related program.
  • CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date.

Nice To Haves

  • National or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred.
  • Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to rooms and ensure exam rooms are thoroughly cleaned and stocked.
  • Review previous medical information and gather relevant updated health information from the patient to inform the provider.
  • Take vitals, perform blood draws, give injections, bandage wounds, and assist with procedures.
  • Work with contracted labs for additional tests.
  • Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations via oral, topical, inhaled, intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intradermal routes at the direction of and upon written order from the Provider.
  • Partner with other members of the care team to develop individual patient plans of care, including identifying and addressing gaps in care.
  • Perform front desk duties, including patient scheduling, medical record requests and abstraction, documentation, coordinating specialist visits, referrals, and other care outside the clinic, check-in, and check-out.
  • Record accurate and pertinent data in the medical record according to documentation guidelines.
  • Process test results and provide patients with timely results via e-message, mail, or phone as directed in written instructions by the Provider.
  • Participate in patient outreach to drive engagement among eligible patient groups.
  • Maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment for treatments.
