The Medical Assistant supports clinical operations by preparing patients for their appointments and helping ensure an efficient, patient-centered visit. In this onsite role, the Medical Assistant acts as a Patient Specialist, completing intake and other preparation so doctors can focus on medical decisions. The position reports to the Center Administrator. Responsibilities include bringing patients to exam rooms, performing basic health checks, verifying medications and allergies, documenting patient history, and conducting validated screenings as needed. The Medical Assistant also manages the EMR inbox and worklists according to routing rules, handling patient messages, lab results, and medication-adherence follow-ups with pharmacies, with the goal of same-day attention for all tasks. The role includes explaining next steps to patients and using the loop-back method—asking patients to repeat instructions in their own words—to check understanding and reduce confusion. The Medical Assistant is expected to protect patient privacy, follow safety and infection-prevention standards, document care accurately, communicate compassionately, and work effectively with clinical teams. CenterWell Senior Primary Care provides proactive, preventive care to seniors, including wellness visits, physical exams, chronic-condition management, screenings, and minor-injury treatment. Its integrated care teams emphasize personalized care and whole-person well-being.
