About The Position

The Medical Assistant - Hinsdale - Neuro position is a full-time role requiring 40 hours per week, with operating hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The role is located in Hinsdale and involves greeting patients, assisting with registration, scheduling, taking vital signs, and collecting health histories. The Medical Assistant will support physicians during examinations, minor surgeries, and other procedures. Certified medical assistants may administer immunizations or injections. Responsibilities also include managing prescription requests, addressing pharmacy callbacks, updating charting, and performing onsite lab tests such as EKG, pulmonary function, blood glucose, and urine pregnancy tests. The role requires maintaining clean examination rooms and providing excellent customer service aligned with Duly Health and Care CARE values. Some travel to other local clinics may be necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Completion of Medical Assistant educational program or higher education courses in health sciences or related experience required
• Active medical assistant certification through one of the following: American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Healthcareer Association (NHA), American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) (required for certain specialties like Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Family Practice)
• CPR certification or willing to become certified upon hire required
• May require phlebotomy certification to be completed within 90 days of hire
• Prior experience working as an MA, CMA, CNA, EMT or 2 years of prior experience working in a medical office assisting with patient care

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and assist with registration, scheduling, measuring vital signs and collecting health history
• Provide support to physicians during examinations, minor office surgeries, dressing changes and other first aid procedures
• Certified medical assistants may assist with immunizations or injections
• Assist patients with prescription requests, address pharmacy callbacks, provider orders, update charting and filing
• Conduct onsite lab testing to include: EKG, pulmonary function, blood glucose and urine pregnancy tests
• Maintains clean, warm and inviting examination rooms for patient visits
• Provide excellent customer service exemplifying Duly Health and Care CARE values
• Some travel to assist other local clinics may be required
