Essential Functions As a Medical Assistant, you’ll support both clinical and administrative operations to ensure exceptional patient care in our outpatient setting.
Requirements
- High School Diploma (required)
- Completion of a certified Medical Assistant program
- BLS Certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
Nice To Haves
- EMR experience (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Assist providers, staff, and patients with professionalism and care
- Take vital signs and obtain accurate patient histories
- Prepare patients for exams, procedures, and treatments
- Assist physicians during examinations and minor procedures
- Perform EKGs and collect/process lab specimens
- Conduct blood draws and waived lab testing
- Administer medications and immunizations as directed
- Recognize and respond to medical emergencies (including First Aid)
- Monitor, screen, and follow up on patient test results
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Register patients and manage medical records
- Schedule procedures and follow up on patient visits
- Handle insurance forms, billing, and patient charts
- Order lab tests and maintain inventory/supplies
- Communicate with insurance companies
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality
