The Assistant (Not Certified) Medical Assistant is an integral part of the patient care team and acts as the liaison between the provider and the patient to meet the medical needs of the patient.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Must successfully obtain Medical Assistant Certification on or before June 30, 2023 in order to continue employment
Completed a formal Medical Assistant training program -or- minimum of three (3) years working as a Medical Assistant
BLS Certification [must be obtained within six (6) months of hire]

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in related clinical or medical office setting

Responsibilities

Does not enter verbal, telephone, or written provider orders in the medical record
Establishes strong working relationships with providers while facilitating excellent patient care
Consistently exceeds customer service expectations and communicates effectively
Strong data entry and computer abilities in addition to proficiency when performing department-specific clinical skills
Must be able to perform accurately and quickly in a busy, stressful environment, setting priorities as to duties
Understands and follows policy and procedure
Builds productive interpersonal relationships in every encounter and demonstrates teamwork
Actively participates in the department
Performs other duties as assigned
