About The Position
Shriners Children’s New England has an opportunity for a Medical Assistant to join our team! The position is day shift, Monday - Friday. The pay range for this position is $19.69 hourly to $29.54 hourly. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and department equity.
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Ability to sit for certification exam from nationally recognized organization (i.e. American Association for Medical Assistants)
Nice To Haves
- One to two years' experience as a Medical Assistant
- Associate's degree
- Two years' pediatric care experience
- National Board for Certification of Orthopedic Technology
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician
Responsibilities
- Assists with the delivery of patient care in the clinic by maintaining clinic flow
- Obtains routine clinical information on patients/family
- Provides physical care of the patients
- Procures and maintains par levels of clinic supplies
- Provides light clerical assistance
- Transcribing of delegated orders into the EMR
- Casting/splint application, maintenance guidance and removal
- Obtaining specimens, including performing venipuncture
