About The Position

This role is responsible for fulfilling patient care responsibilities as assigned, including organizing patient flow, preparing exam rooms, accompanying patients to exam rooms, collecting patient history, charting, collecting specimens, relaying instructions to patients, and assisting patients as necessary. The Medical Assistant will also perform patient screening, including collecting patient history, blood pressure, spirometry, and EKG as required. Additional duties include performing blood draws, collecting specimens and performing basic lab testing, assisting the doctor with physical exams and office procedures, and supporting the office coordinator with administrative tasks such as answering phones and scheduling appointments. The role also involves managing and updating patient medical records, handling referrals and prior authorizations, and maintaining inventory of clinical equipment and supplies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Completion of medical assistant program or equivalent training/experience.
  • Must possess strong customer service skills.
  • Must be able to multi-task.

Nice To Haves

  • Phlebotomist certification preferred.
  • Certification as a medical assistant preferred.
  • Experience with electronic medical records is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in an outpatient medical office.

Responsibilities
