About The Position
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Assistant to support an outpatient clinic team in a fast-paced family practice setting. The role involves a combination of clinical and administrative responsibilities, working closely with physicians and clinical staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements
- Minimum 6 months of recent Medical Assistant experience
- Hands-on experience with Epic electronic medical records (EMR) system
- Ability to function effectively in an outpatient clinical environment
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Nice To Haves
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program preferred
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred
Responsibilities
- Room patients and record vital signs (height, weight, pulse oximetry, etc.)
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during procedures
- Administer injections and immunizations as directed
- Perform basic in-office lab testing (urinalysis, glucose, strep, pregnancy tests)
- Collect and process clinical specimens (throat swabs, urine, wound cultures)
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including history, medications, and allergies
- Assist with wound care, dressing changes, and nebulizer treatments
- Support administrative workflows such as chart preparation, pharmacy coordination, and supply management
- Conduct patient follow-up calls and assist with care coordination
