Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A minimum of one year experience, preferrably in a medical office setting.
  • CPR-preferred

  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following: Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Meditech (if applicable to position), Epic (if applicable to position), Performance Manager/NetLearning
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
  • Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
  • Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
  • May be required to travel to satellite offices

Responsibilities

  • Back office and some front office support for busy Cardiology Providers.
  • The position is 80%-90% back office with some front office support when needed, front office consists of patient check in, verifying insurance and requirements of that insurance i.e. referrals / authorizations, co-pay collections and scheduling of visits, testing and procedures as needed.
  • Provides general Medical Assistant assistance to a very busy Provider in an outpatient setting consisting of EKG, vitals including manual blood pressures.
  • The staff member demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the ages of patients served.
  • In addition, the staff member demonstrates competency in applying these principles when providing individualized care to specific patients.

  • There may be times that you will be required to cover other sites within Mercy.
  • Must have transportation for travel between Hub Sites.
