About The Position

Assist physicians with medical procedures in the office. Responsible for phlebotomy, laboratory testing, quality control, instrument troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Requirements

  • High School or GED
  • BLS required upon hire or must be obtained within 30 days of employment (FCS will provide BLS course within first 30 days).
  • Valid Medical Assistant Certification Required from one of these 5 approved boards: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) and Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) from the National Health Career Association (NHA) National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from the National Center for Competency Testing Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from the American Medical Technologist (AMT) The National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) for Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) Nationally Certified Medical Assistant - RMA(AAH) from American Allied Health Medical Assistant Certification (MAC) from the American Medical Certification Association
  • Valid Driver’s License and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed
  • One year of experience as a medical assistant in a clinic or physician’s office with the ability to perform venipuncture preferred.
  • Critical thinking skills, including solid problem solving, analysis, decision-making, planning, time management, and organizational skills. Must be detail-oriented with the ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Developed interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, diplomacy, tact, conflict management, delegation skills, and diversity awareness. Ability to work effectively with sensitive and confidential material and sometimes emotionally charged matters.
  • Good command of the English language.
  • Effective communication skills (oral, written, presentation), is an active listener, and effectively provides balanced feedback.
  • Strong customer focus. Ability to build an engaging culture of quality, performance effectiveness, and operational excellence through best practices, strong business and political acumen, collaboration, and partnerships, as well as positive employee, physician, and community relations.
  • Effectively manages own time, conflicting priorities, self, stress, and professional development. Self-motivated and a self-starter with the ability work independently with limited supervision. Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment with demonstrated ability to juggle competing priorities and demands from a variety of stakeholders and sites.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
  • <25% Travel
  • Monday to Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Occasional overtime may be required, and weekend shifts may be based on location hours and operational needs.
  • Background, drug, and nicotine screens
  • All new hires to receive various vaccinations, including the influenza vaccine, barring an approved exemption.
  • FCS is a drug-free workplace, and all new hires will be subject to drug/ nicotine testing. Medical Marijuana cards are not recognized.
