They are responsible for performing essential patient visit tasks, assisting providers with procedures, managing laboratory duties including specimen collection and Point of Care testing, and administering medications and vaccines safely. The MA also handles various administrative and clinical support tasks such as medication refills, insurance authorizations, patient messaging, supply ordering, scheduling, and referrals. Cross-training is expected to cover duties relevant to the clinic's specialty. Effective communication, teamwork, and maintaining a clean, well-stocked work environment are key aspects of this role. The position requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan.
