About The Position

This is a combined posting for an Associate Medical Assistant, Medical Assistant, and Senior Medical Assistant. The requirements of each role are listed below under each associated title. The Senior Medical Assistant (MA III) works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A Senior Medical Assistant (MA III) is capable of performing all aspects of the Associate Medical Assistant (MA I) and Medical Assistant (MA II) roles. Additionally, the MA III proactively takes initiative and serves as an informal leader with additional responsibilities related to clinic/location. Senior Medical Assistant (MA III) serves as an ambassador, change agent, quality champion, and mentor/resource to Medical Assistants by providing support, guidance, and training as needed. The Medical Assistant II (MA II) works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A Medical Assistant (II) performs all aspects of the Associate Medical Assistant (MA I) role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for assigned clinic/location of work. A Medical Assistant (MA II) is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations. The Associate Medical Assistant (MA I) works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing basic patient care to assigned patients. Basic patient care needs will be met though both administrative and clinical duties. An Associate Medical Assistant (MA I) is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Requirements

  • Coursework/Training and Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants OR Coursework/Training and Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program OR Coursework/Training and Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces Or equivalent educ/experience (for Senior MA).
  • Minimum 1 year of work experience in a role similar to a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration (for Senior MA).
  • Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association (for Senior MA).
  • 2 years of Medical assisting experience in a clinic setting (for Senior MA).
  • 2 years of experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast paced environment, including handling confidential data with discretion (for Senior MA).
  • 6 months of working experience in a PSJH clinic within the last 3 years (for Senior MA).
  • Coursework/Training and Graduate of a school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants OR Coursework/Training and Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program OR Coursework/Training and Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces Or equivalent educ/experience (for Associate MA).
  • Minimum one year of work experience in a role similar to a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration (for Associate MA).
  • Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association (for Associate MA).
  • Coursework/Training and Graduate of a school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants OR Coursework/Training and Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program OR Coursework/Training and has completed 2 years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces Or equivalent educ/experience (for MA).
  • Minimum 1 year of work experience in a role similar to a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration (for MA).
  • Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association (for MA).
  • 6 months of Healthcare experience (for MA).
  • 6 months of Medical Assistant experience (for MA).

Nice To Haves

  • Upon hire: National Certified Medical Assistant (for Senior MA).
  • Upon hire: National Medical Assistant Certification (for Associate MA).
  • 6 months of experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast-paced environment (for Associate MA).
  • 6 months of experience in a healthcare setting working with an Electronic Health record (EHR) (for Associate MA).
  • Upon hire: National Medical Assistant Certification (for MA).

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients.
  • Perform all aspects of the Associate Medical Assistant (MA I) and Medical Assistant (MA II) roles (for Senior MA).
