About The Position

Marathon Health is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join its care team in Midtown Atlanta. Working closely with a primary care physician, the Medical Assistant helps deliver excellent patient care and an exceptional guest experience. The role combines medical receptionist responsibilities with clinical duties, supporting patients throughout their clinic visit and contributing to individualized care plans.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant; the experience requirement may vary based on clinic needs.
• Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or another related program.
• CPR/BLS certification required by the start date.
• MA certification or registration is required for employment in states where certification or registration is required.

Nice To Haves

• Primary care Medical Assistant experience is preferred.
• National or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure exam rooms are thoroughly cleaned and stocked.
• Review previous medical information and collect relevant updated health information from patients for the provider.
• Take vital signs, draw blood, give injections, bandage wounds, assist with procedures, and coordinate with contracted labs for additional tests.
• Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations by oral, topical, inhaled, intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intradermal routes, at the provider’s direction and upon written order.
• Partner with the care team to develop individual patient care plans, including identifying and addressing gaps in care.
• Perform front desk duties, including patient scheduling, medical record requests and abstraction, documentation, coordinating specialist visits and referrals, arranging care outside the clinic, and patient check-in and check-out.
• Record accurate and pertinent information in medical records according to documentation guidelines.
• Process test results and provide timely results to patients by e-message, mail, or phone, as directed in the provider’s written instructions.
• Participate in outreach to engage eligible patient groups.
• Maintain clinical and office supplies and treatment equipment.
