About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role is vital to delivering high-quality patient care by supporting clinical staff, assisting with patient flow, and ensuring a positive experience for every patient who walks through our doors. As a Medical Assistant you will play a key role in supporting providers and improving patient outcomes. Requirements

  • Certificate of completion from a Medical Assistant program.
  • Must have CMA/RMA certification, or ability to earn such certification within six months from date of hire.
  • Must have BLS Certification.
  • Must meet CEU requirements mandated by law to maintain license.
  • Must have valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual Spanish speaking is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Review patient’s medical history.
  • Elicit relevant information from patient/ patient’s care giver regarding current and prior conditions or ailments.
  • Elicit relevant information from patient/ patient’s care giver regarding their lifestyle and behavior.
  • Measure vital signs.
  • Administer medication.
  • Obtain and process specimens as directed.
  • Assist providers with exams and/or procedures, per the PCMH/NCQA model of care.
  • Conduct clinical supply inventories.
  • Stock exam rooms.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment and verify that medical equipment is in working order.
  • Develop positive, professional, long term relationships with patients and their care givers.
  • Educate patients and their care givers on recommended techniques to improve and maintain good health.
  • Fill in or rotate in role of Clinical Support Assistant as needed, see attached Job Description.
  • Adjust approach appropriately according to the age and stage of cognitive development of the patient.
  • Promote good health throughout the facility in conversation and behavior.
  • Must maintain infection control standards at all times per organization policy.
  • Process Providers forms and see that they are faxed back accordingly to LCH&D policy. i.e. FMLA, DME, utility subsidies, return to work.
