SkinCare MT is hiring a Full Time Medical Assistant. The Medical Assistant is essential during the patient visit, accompanying the dermatologist in the room and promoting a friendly and efficient environment for patients, staff, and dermatologists. Requirements
- Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse
- Non-Certified Medical Assistants will need to complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration
- Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
- Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
- Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
- Must possess organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
Nice To Haves
- 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
- Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech a plus
Responsibilities
- Rooming patients and documents all vital information
- Scribing information for the dermatologist
- Providing post op wound care to patients
- Drawing blood and suture removal
- Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
- Scheduling patient appointments
- Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: Surgical photographs
- Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: Biopsies – punch, DIF and shave
- Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: Excisions
- Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: Electrodessication and curettage
- Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: I&D
- Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
- Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: Phototherapy
- Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: Injections
- Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: Koh preps
- Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: Trichograms
- Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: Tzank preps
- Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: Dermabrasion
- Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: Patch testing
- Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: Blue light
