About The Position

NOW HIRING NON-REGISTERED or NON-CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANTS!!! Sign On Bonus Eligible for Certified/Registered Medical Assistants!! Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, and home to Baystate Medical Practices, the largest multispecialty group in the region is looking for a full-time Medical Assistant to join our experienced Urgent Care team in Northampton, MA. This position would require possible coverage to other Convenient/Urgent Care locations in Palmer, Springfield, Longmeadow and Westfield.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • CPR-Basic Life Support of Healthcare Provider required from the American Heart Association
  • MAI & MAII- requires graduate of accredited MA program Or minimum of 3 years current relevant medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting. (evaluated by hiring manager for level hiring for)
  • MAIII - requires graduate of accredited MA program with minimum of 3 years’ current medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting OR demonstrated competencies of MA III (evaluated by hiring manager) with minimum 5 years’ current relevant medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting
  • MAIV - Only through promotional career ladder internally. Minimum of two years as an MAIII at a Baystate Health with demonstrated competencies for promotion to MA IV.
  • Graduate of an accredited MA program and registered/certified by a third-party credential body.
  • GED or HiSET (Required)
  • Basic Life Support - American Heart Association

Responsibilities

  • Perform an important role providing care to our patients.
  • Take vital signs.
  • Perform patient intake and history.
  • Clinical orders, procedures, documentation and patient discharge.
