About The Position

Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, and home to Baystate Medical Practices, the largest multispecialty group in the region is looking for a full-time Medical Assistant to join our experienced Urgent Care team in Northampton, MA. This position would require possible coverage to other Convenient/Urgent Care locations in Palmer, Springfield, Longmeadow and Westfield.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED
CPR-Basic Life Support of Healthcare Provider required from the American Heart Association
MAI & MAII- requires graduate of accredited MA program Or minimum of 3 years current relevant medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting. (evaluated by hiring manager for level hiring for)
MAIII - requires graduate of accredited MA program with minimum of 3 years’ current medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting OR demonstrated competencies of MA III (evaluated by hiring manager) with minimum 5 years’ current relevant medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting
MAIV - Only through promotional career ladder internally. Minimum of two years as an MAIII at a Baystate Health with demonstrated competencies for promotion to MA IV.
Graduate of an accredited MA program and registered/certified by a third-party credential body.
GED or HiSET (Required)
Basic Life Support - American Heart Association

Responsibilities

Perform an important role providing care to our patients.
Take vital signs.
Perform patient intake and history.
Clinical orders, procedures, documentation and patient discharge.
