About The Position

Primor Health is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support our primary care providers in delivering exceptional patient care. The Medical Assistant plays a key role in both clinical and administrative operations by assisting with patient visits, coordinating care, and ensuring efficient clinic workflow while providing an outstanding patient experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Experience using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent certification preferred.
  • One or more years of experience in a primary care, family medicine, or internal medicine setting preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of primary care workflows and preventive medicine.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Commitment to compassionate, culturally sensitive, and patient-centered care.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and prepare them for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, medication lists, allergies, and chief complaints.
  • Document patient information accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and office procedures.
  • Perform clinical tasks including: Administering vaccines and injections, Performing EKGs, Collecting blood and urine specimens, Point-of-care testing (A1C, glucose, COVID-19, influenza, strep, urinalysis, etc.), Wound care and dressing changes.
  • Provide patient education on medications, preventive care, chronic disease management, and follow-up instructions.
  • Prepare exam rooms and maintain adequate supplies and equipment.
  • Coordinate laboratory testing, imaging orders, referrals, and specialist appointments.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and preventive care programs.
  • Schedule patient appointments and follow-up visits.
  • Answer telephone calls and respond to patient messages professionally and promptly.
  • Verify patient demographics and insurance information.
  • Process prescription refill requests according to provider protocols.
  • Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and medical records requests.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of medical supplies.
