Medical Assistant
About The Position
Valley Medical Group is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our Family Practice team and work in our Easthampton Health Center. Exclusions apply for internal applicants or employees who have left VMG within the previous year. Medical Assistants will work under the supervision of the Nurse Team Leader, and function as a member of the health care team in the delivery of high-quality service. MAs will assist in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management.
Requirements
- Medical Assisting program certificate, EMT license, or CNA license
- Current CPR certification
- EMR experience (Athena preferred)
- Experience working as a Medical Assistant, EMT, or CNA
Nice To Haves
- CMA or RMA certification strongly preferred
- Proof of completion of an ABHES or CAAHEP accredited Medical Assisting program preferred
- Experience administering vaccines
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for their visit by obtaining vitals, patient history, medication reconciliation and reviewing allergies
- Assist with procedures and point-of-care testing
- Ordering necessary tests required for the visit to ensure satisfaction of the QM Tab measures.
- Document encounters in the Electronic Medical Record (Athena)
