About The Position

The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to members of the healthcare team to ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. This role supports daily operations within the medical unit and assists with patient flow, documentation, and clinical procedures in accordance with organizational policies and applicable regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or a comparable program required.
  • Current CPR certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working in a physician’s office, clinic, or ambulatory healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment and examination rooms prior to patient visits.
  • Interview patients and obtain relevant medical history information.
  • Measure, record, and document vital signs and other clinical data in the patient’s medical record.
  • Provide basic patient education as directed by licensed healthcare staff.
  • Assist healthcare providers with examinations, treatments, and procedures performed in the medical unit.
  • Collect specimens from patients and prepare samples for laboratory analysis, as required and within scope of practice.
  • Maintain adequate levels of clinical and clerical supplies for the unit.
  • Perform administrative and clerical duties as needed, including documentation support and record maintenance.
  • Adhere to organizational policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and other applicable regulations.
  • Participate in required training, emergency preparedness, and disaster drills.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Promotes a culture of safety for patients and employees through proper identification, reporting, documentation, and prevention
  • Maintains competency and knowledge of current standards of practice, trends, and developments in related scope of job role or practice
  • Adheres to infection control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement activities
  • Completes required orientation as directed by the facility
  • Follows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment
  • Follows facility and CFG Health Systems Occurrence Protocol
  • Upholds HIPAA and PREA regulations
  • Punctual and dependable for assigned/confirmed shifts
  • Maintains security clearance for the assigned facility
