About The Position

The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to members of the healthcare team to ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. This role supports daily operations within the medical unit and assists with patient flow, documentation, and clinical procedures in accordance with organizational policies and applicable regulations.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or a comparable program required.
Current CPR certification required.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience working in a physician’s office, clinic, or ambulatory healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare treatment and examination rooms prior to patient visits.
Interview patients and obtain relevant medical history information.
Measure, record, and document vital signs and other clinical data in the patient’s medical record.
Provide basic patient education as directed by licensed healthcare staff.
Assist healthcare providers with examinations, treatments, and procedures performed in the medical unit.
Collect specimens from patients and prepare samples for laboratory analysis, as required and within scope of practice.
Maintain adequate levels of clinical and clerical supplies for the unit.
Perform administrative and clerical duties as needed, including documentation support and record maintenance.
Adhere to organizational policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures.
Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and other applicable regulations.
Participate in required training, emergency preparedness, and disaster drills.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Provides a positive and professional representation of CFG Health Systems, LLC.
Promotes a culture of safety for patients and employees through proper identification, reporting, documentation, and prevention
Maintains competency and knowledge of current standards of practice, trends, and developments in related scope of job role or practice
Adheres to infection control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations
Participate in ongoing quality improvement activities
Completes required orientation as directed by the facility
Follows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment
Follows facility and CFG Health Systems Occurrence Protocol
Upholds HIPAA and PREA regulations
Punctual and dependable for assigned/confirmed shifts
Maintains security clearance for the assigned facility
