About The Position

Ascension Medical Group is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for their Bariatric Surgery department in Chicago, IL. This day shift position involves conducting patient rooming and vitals, assisting providers with procedures, collaborating with the healthcare team, maintaining patient records, educating patients and families, and providing administrative support for both front and back office operations.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted.
• Medical Assistant preferred.
• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual in Spanish is a must.
• Prior medical office experience.
• Ability to perform both front and back office administrative duties.

Responsibilities

• Conduct rooming, vitals and assist providers with procedures.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team, contributing specialized knowledge for optimal outcomes.
• Maintain detailed patient records for seamless communication and care continuity.
• Educate and reassure patients and families about procedures and treatments, promoting understanding and reducing anxiety.
• Provide essential administrative duties for both front and back office.
