About The Position

The CMA provides patient care in an ambulatory clinic setting under the direct responsibility of a faculty physician. Clinical skills are equivalent to the PCA. In addition, certain other tasks, eg. Giving injections, performing EKGs, may be performed based on training and FGP Clinical Policy and Procedure. The CMA may also perform clerical, insurance and medical record functions.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant.
  • Basic Life Support certification.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of direct patient care experience in a medical office or ambulatory clinic.
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant Accredited MA through, AAMA, NHA, NCCT, AMCA, AAMA or AMT.
