About The Position

The Medical Assistant (MA) - Gynecology and Gynecological Pain & Minimally Invasive Surgery position is a full-time role located in Skokie, IL. This position involves providing clinical care under the direction of office Physicians and the Practice Manager. Responsibilities include documenting patient information, preparing patients for examinations and procedures, collecting and preparing specimens, sterilizing instruments, managing phone calls and test results, and performing prior authorizations. The role also requires back-up coverage for Patient Support Associates and other delegated functions. This position requires travel to other locations for coverage and will be trained to cross-cover Urogynecology. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required.
  • CPR certification through the American Heart Association required
  • One year of work experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required
  • Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required
  • Previous experience working in a Women’s Health medical office (or related field) is preferred
  • Flexibility, team player & enjoy working at a fast pace

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical care under the direction of the office Physicians and Practice Manager
  • Document vital signs, allergies, medications, reason for office visit and take medical histories
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures like Colposcopy, LEEPS, Hysteroscopy
  • Collect/prepare specimens
  • Sterilize and High-Level Disinfection instruments and scopes
  • Phone triage, test results, prior authorizations and in-basket management
  • Back-up coverage for Patient Support Associates
  • Perform other functions as delegated
