About The Position

The Medical Assistant I (MA I) is an unlicensed healthcare professional who performs routine technical services within the medical practice settings under the supervision of the physician and the department’s leadership staff. The associate in this role possesses knowledge and skills to function efficiently in the back office and / or front office. This is a part time benefitted position supporting the Sea View Pediatrics primary care practice. While this position will be assigned primarily to the Aliso Viejo location, the position may be required to support other Sea View locations as needed.

Requirements

  • Previous work experience or externship in a healthcare setting.
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Graduate of a vocational school having successfully completed requirements for MA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Medical Assistant Diploma.
  • Knowledge and ability to provide appropriate patient care depending on age, cultural, and spiritual needs.
  • Ability to set goals and judge results in accordance with the highest standards.
  • Advance care through development of new ideas and technology.
  • Promote teamwork to achieve CHOC's mission, understanding, and exceeding patient and family expectations.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English effectively at a level appropriate for the safe and effective performance of the job.
  • Proficient in medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
