About The Position

Baptist Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for their BHMG Multispecialty clinic in Pembroke Pines. This is a full-time position with a variable shift. The Medical Assistant works under the clinical supervision of the practice physician(s) and office manager, assisting physicians in patient examinations and treatments. Responsibilities include interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, recording patient information, drawing blood samples, and preparing specimens for laboratory analysis. The estimated pay range for this position is $20.02 - $27.61 per hour, depending on experience. Requirements

  • High School Diploma, Certificate of Attendance, Certificate of Completion, GED or equivalent training or experience required.
  • Must have at least one of the following licenses/certifications: Licensed Practical Nurse, Paramedic, AAMA Certified Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Certified Nursing Assistant, Basic Life Support, Registered Medical Assistant.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required for all.
  • CNA, LPN, EMT license must be from Florida.
  • Must be a professional, organized detail-oriented team player with effective interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Possesses compassionate demeanor, excellent customer service skills and high ethical standards.
  • HIPAA/OSHA compliance required.
  • Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment efficiently.
  • Proficient in computer applications and typing skills.
  • Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
  • Minimum of less than 1 year of experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Knowledge of Health Care regulatory guidelines and Medical Terminology a plus.
  • For Primary Care Practices, EKG and Phlebotomy Certifications are also required for employees with the CNA license only.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the physicians in the practice.
  • Assisting in examination and treatment of patients.
  • Interviewing patients.
  • Measuring vital signs (i.e.: pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height).
  • Recording information on patients charts.
  • Drawing and collecting blood samples from patients.
  • Preparing specimens for laboratory analysis.
