About The Position

A Medical Assistant has accountability for providing care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting. This will involve caring for patients with acute and chronic needs. A Medical Assistant will be responsible for communicating clearly with patients seeking care through different modalities including telephone and in-person interactions. This role will be less hands on than a typical MA role and an understanding of primary care is helpful for success. As a Medical Assistant at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team, ensuring our patients receive the best care. Requirements

  • Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program
  • 1 year of Medical Assistant Experience
  • Current RN/LPN license

  • Understanding of primary care is helpful for success.

Responsibilities

  • Providing Patient Care: Under the direction of the Clinician, providing care to patients by assisting the provider to gather information that is relative to the patient’s visit and condition.
  • Effective Communication: Communicating clearly with patients seeking care through different modalities including telephone and in-person interactions.
  • Team Collaboration: Working with cross functional teams to collaborate on patient care. Attention to detail and follow-through are key components in helping to provide the care that is needed.
