Medical Assistant Primary Care
About The Position
Corewell Health is offering a $3,000 sign-on bonus for this opportunity! This is for external applicants or current CHW MA Apprentice Students only. This role is in the largest Primary Care office within the medical group, covering family medicine, internal medicine, and pediatric medicine. MAs hired into this space are expected to perform both clinical and clerical duties. The office has other allied health team members on site, including pharmacy, physical therapy, behavioral health, care management, lab, and x-ray. MA schedules are built into blocks to match the provider/business need, and most schedules will include at least one early morning shift and one late night shift. The office culture relies on trust and initiative, with a collaborative environment where team members help each other and are proactive in identifying and addressing needs. It is a teaching site with students from various medical fields. Successful employees demonstrate strong time management, communication skills, and a drive to work at the top of their scope to provide excellent patient care. Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, offering diverse care options and opportunities to learn and specialize in various primary care and specialty practices.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent Required
- Successful completion of a competency-based medical assistant training program Required
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days
- One of the following Required within 120 Days: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
