About The Position

The HealthCare Connection (THCC) is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their mission-driven team. This role supports providers and nurses in delivering high-quality care to children and adolescents. The position offers the opportunity to impact student health and well-being with a consistent work schedule that allows for work-life balance. THCC is Ohio’s first Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), dedicated to providing quality and accessible primary healthcare services to residents of northern Hamilton County and surrounding areas. They are recognized as a Level 3 Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) and serve over 20,000 patients across two primary care locations and six school-based health centers.

Requirements

Graduate of a certified Medical Assistant program
Active CPR certification
Proven computer skills a must
Excellent communication and customer service
Attention to detail
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information and relate to persons from diverse educational, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds

Nice To Haves

At least one year of experience in community health nursing setting or private physician practice.
Preferred experience working with electronic health records
Experience working with persons of diverse educational, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds is a plus.

Responsibilities

Assisting providers with direct patient care including: interviewing the patient and documenting vitals and medical concerns and conditions
Conducting requested screening/tests
Drawing blood and administering shots to patients
Responding to telephone inquiries
Maintaining equipment and supplies in exam rooms and office
Completing encounter forms and code as necessary
Conducting referrals for patients
Performing other duties necessary to provide excellent patient care to the patients and to support our providers
