Assist physicians with medical procedures in office. Responsible for phlebotomy, laboratory testing, quality control, instrument troubleshooting, and maintenance. This role requires thorough documentation in the medical record chart of testing/treatment rendered to patients, preparing encounter forms for charging, and documenting quality control and quality assurance corrective actions. The Medical Assistant will also be responsible for obtaining pertinent scan and CDs for physician review, maintaining supply inventory, placing orders, initiating troubleshooting procedures for instrument malfunctions, and performing EKG testing where applicable. The position requires adherence to all Federal and State laws and regulations, AON and departmental policies and procedures, and maintaining patient information confidentiality. The Medical Assistant will assist in training new employees and may be expected to work at any AON location, including overtime when required.
