About The Position

Golden State Dermatology is a rapidly expanding physician-led and owned dermatology group with over 45 locations across California. We specialize in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology, including skin, hair, and nail conditions, Mohs surgery, and cosmetic procedures. This Medical Assistant role requires travel to various clinic locations including Montclair, Glendora, Thousand Oaks, Studio City, and Simi Valley. The Medical Assistant will partner with providers, guide patients through treatments, and ensure exceptional patient service. Key responsibilities include preparing and stocking exam rooms, reviewing patient history, assisting providers during procedures, and supporting front desk operations as needed. The role emphasizes multitasking, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Requirements

  • Travel required to clinic locations: Montclair, Glendora, Thousand Oaks, Studio City, Simi Valley.
  • Comfortable with travel to all locations.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Preparing exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.
  • Ensuring all treatment rooms are cleaned and stocked at the end of the workday.
  • Reviewing patient history, visit reason, medications, and patient understanding of procedures, and making notes in EMA.
  • Ensuring MIPS information is consistently and accurately completed in the medical record.
  • Assisting with scheduling of patient's tests and treatments.
  • Assisting dermatology providers during surgical procedures, such as excisions, Mohs surgery, and cosmetic dermatology procedures.
  • Providing support to the front desk by answering phones, scheduling patients, and assisting staff in determining the need for reception assistance once all back-office duties are addressed.
  • Cleaning and performing spore testing on the autoclave, following scheduled maintenance, and keeping accurate records.
  • Checking the expiration dates on medications and samples, maintaining records of date checks.
  • Keeping the biopsy book, slides, and pathology reports up to date, and recording results in patient charts.
  • Processing prescription refills in accordance with established procedures.
  • Ensuring authorization for prescriptions as needed.
  • Consistently demonstrating responsibility in managing the pathology and culture log.
  • Substantial multitasking and task management to ensure timely completion of all responsibilities.
