About The Position

The Ambulatory LPN or MA Float will support healthcare providers in facilitating patient visits and procedures, conducting routine laboratory tests, managing referrals, and improving quality outcomes for multiple practice locations. This role is crucial for covering back-office patient care and administrative duties during clinician absences or periods of high patient volume. This Float position will serve the [LOCATION] Region.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform CPR
  • Proficiency in medical records and scheduling modules.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and administer medications and injections under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider safely and accurately.
  • Demonstrated ability in taking patient vitals, performing injection/immunization procedures, charting and documentation, exam room preparation, infectious waste handling, knowledge of sterile techniques, routine lab procedures and collection.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, staff, and physicians.
  • Ability to use patient care skills to provide an exceptional experience.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Ability to navigate EMRs.
  • Diploma from a Medical Assistant program OR a high school diploma + 1 year of Medical Assistant experience in a physician practice.
  • Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the provider of a health care site with facilitation of patient visits and procedures.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests.
  • Manage referrals.
  • Contribute to quality outcomes for the population of the practice.
  • Cover back-office patient care and administrative responsibilities in the event of clinician illness, approved time-off, jury duty, funeral time, times of high census, or other growth needs.
  • Travel between locations.
