About The Position

Seeking a full time Medical Assistant for offices in Rochester Hills and Troy. If interested in working as an MA in any of those locations please send your resume. Requirements

  • Must be a team player, fast learner and have computer skills.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Empathy and a patient-first attitude.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to [insert weight, e.g., 25 lbs] as needed.
  • Manual dexterity required for handling medical instruments and performing clinical tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred.
  • Experience in a private practice environment is a plus.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
  • Take and record patient vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant health information.
  • Prepare examination rooms, ensuring they are clean, organized, and properly stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests, administer medications, and manage wound care as directed by the physician.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing.
  • Conduct EKGs, phlebotomy, and other diagnostic tests as required.
  • Administer injections and immunizations under the supervision of a physician.
  • Educate patients on prescribed treatments, medications, and preventive healthcare.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Handle incoming calls, answer patient inquiries, and provide general information about the practice.
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies and order replacements as necessary.
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists and communicate with external healthcare providers as needed.
  • Greet patients and escort them to examination rooms.
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients throughout their visit.
  • Ensure patients understand their care instructions and answer any questions they may have.
