About The Position
The Medical Assistant works with the physician and other members of the primary or specialty care team, performing clinical and administrative patient-related duties in the front or back office. The role helps fulfill patient needs, supports smooth patient flow within the department, and gathers, organizes, and documents healthcare data. The Medical Assistant reports directly to the practice manager, RN supervisor, or director.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- One year of ambulatory experience.
- One year of electronic medical records (EMR) experience.
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.
- Phlebotomy Technician Certification (CPT).
- Bilingual ability.
- Completion and documentation of California requirements with demonstrated competency for venipuncture/phlebotomy; required for specific departments.
- Additional requirements may apply in specialty areas.
