About The Position

Corewell Health Center for Wellness Boston Square is a community-focused primary care practice serving a diverse patient population in southeast Grand Rapids. Our interdisciplinary team includes a physician, nurse practitioner, population health RN, behavioral health specialist, care manager, community health worker, patient service representative, and two medical assistants. While we are a small team, we are a highly collaborative and impactful group dedicated to improving the health and well-being of our patients and community. Our Medical Assistants are essential members of the care team and play a key role in supporting patient care and clinic operations. Successful candidates should be adaptable, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where collaboration and excellent patient care are top priorities. Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area. As a Medical Assistant with Corewell Health, you'll be a member of our clinical support team and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of the best possible care. You'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills training OR a minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with MA scope of practice Required
  • 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days
  • One of the following Required within 120 Days: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
