About The Position
Valley Medical Group is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our Family Practice team and work in our Amherst Medical Center. This is an opportunity for someone looking for a dynamic environment. Medical Assistants will work under the supervision of the Nurse Team Leader and function as a member of the health care team in the delivery of high-quality service. MAs will assist in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management.
Requirements
- Medical Assisting program certificate, EMT license, or CNA license
- Current CPR certification
- EMR experience (Athena preferred)
- Experience working as a Medical Assistant, EMT, or CNA
Nice To Haves
- CMA or RMA certification strongly preferred
- Proof of completion of an ABHES or CAAHEP accredited Medical Assisting program preferred
- Experience administering vaccines
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for their visit by obtaining vitals, patient history, medication reconciliation and reviewing allergies
- Assist with procedures and point-of-care testing
- Ordering necessary tests required for the visit to ensure satisfaction of the QM Tab measures.
- Document encounters in the Electronic Medical Record (Athena)
