Requirements

  • High School Graduate General Studies or GED General Studies
  • Satisfactory completion of formal Medical Assistant program pursuant to the Division of Allied Health Professions or military training that is equivalent to an accredited Medical Assistant program (determination by DHMF HR department in conjunction with the State Division of Allied Health)
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Assistant., upon hire
  • 6 months experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Office Receptionist or an equivalent amount of experience in a highvolume customer service role in another industry/environment working with referrals or scheduling surgeries., upon hire
  • Experience in billing. , upon hire
  • Prior call center experience preferred., upon hire
  • Experience with multi-line phones/ACDphones preferred., upon hire
  • Prior call center experience preferred., upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Ensure smooth daily operations for patients and the medical team.
  • Support multiple patients daily, depending on physician availability.
  • Proactively prepare patient charts.
  • Assist with patient exams or procedures.
  • Relay physician instructions.
  • Administer physician-directed medication.
  • Perform accurate vital sign measurements.
  • Manage medical records (charts and EMR).
  • Communicate patient concerns to providers.
  • Collaborate with physicians, insurance, and pharmacies for medication authorizations and refills.
  • Provides excellent customer service.
  • Demonstrates technical competence.
  • Obtains pre-authorizations for procedures, imaging, tests, medications.
  • Accurately submits RX requests to pharmacies within 30 minutes after obtaining a physicians written order.
  • Proactively contributes to organizational excellence.
  • Utilizes work time efficiently through proper time management.
