About The Position
North Florida Surgeons Beaches is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant. As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for preparing patients and ensuring that they have a positive experience during their office visit. This position will rotate between two facilities if needed. Our office is located at 1370 13th Ave S Suite 116 Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250.
Requirements
- Must be willing and able to work assigned work schedule to specific physician clinics (general and colorectal surgery).
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of one year work experience medical office environment.
- Previous medical office experience.
- Computer skills for accurate data entry.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology
- Professionalism, good work ethic and engaging team member.
Nice To Haves
- Associate Degree in Medical Office Assistant or equivalent preferred
- ATHENA EMR experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepares patients for evaluation and management by reviewing pertinent patient information including patient medication on each visit.
- Answering telephones, taking messages, returning calls to patients
- Prescription management
- Chart preparation, responding to referral requests.
- Takes patient histories and vital signs and documents into EMR system.
- Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
- Assists physicians and physician assistants
- Ensuring that patients have all tests/studies/documentation completed before seeing the medical provider.
- Casting and splinting
- Removing sutures, staples, drains
- Applying DME
