About The Position

Midwest Pain Clinics (MPC) is a leading pain management practice serving Omaha and the surrounding region. Our team is committed to getting to the root of patients' pain, not simply masking symptoms, through compassionate, patient-focused care and advanced treatment options. We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team in Omaha, Nebraska. This role provides both clinical and administrative support to physicians and healthcare professionals while helping ensure an efficient, positive patient experience.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Medical Assistant certification may be required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, confidentiality requirements, recordkeeping, and basic clerical procedures.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist patients, answer and direct phone calls, and schedule or reschedule appointments.
  • Check in patients, collect required information, and ensure forms and consents are completed.
  • Obtain and accurately document patient histories, vital signs, test results, and other medical information.
  • Prepare examination and treatment rooms, equipment, instruments, and necessary supplies.
  • Assist practitioners with examinations, procedures, patient care, and pre- and post-procedure patient transfers.
  • Prepare, order, and administer medications under physician direction and supervision.
  • Manage medical supply inventory and maintain appropriately stocked exam rooms.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and help optimize provider schedules and waitlists when earlier appointments become available.
  • Provide compassionate support and assistance to patients and their families.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and protect patient confidentiality.
  • Follow applicable healthcare, HIPAA, OSHA, and organizational standards.
  • Complete required annual training and perform other duties as assigned.
