The Boise Infectious Disease clinic is now hiring a team-oriented and compassionate Medical Assistant! This MA position will primarily support the Infectious Disease outpatient clinic provider team which includes three Physicians, Locums staff, a dedicated RN and another MA. The Saint Alphonsus Infectious Disease team treats individuals experiencing bacterial, fungal, viral, and parasitic infections to provide an extra layer of support and care in this specific area.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required at hire.
  • MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies: American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA), American Medical Technologists (RMA), National Healthcare Association (CCMA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA), National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA), American Medical Certification Association (CMAC), National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA).
  • New Graduates: MA certificate of completion required from an accredited program or school.
  • New Graduates: Completion of either a 100-hour MA externship or 6 months MA experience in lieu of the externship hours even with MA certification.
  • Medical Assistant with Experience: 1 Year of MA experience OR Current MA Certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed above.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.

Responsibilities

  • Help care for a wide variety of infections and patient situations.
  • Work with high acuity patients.
  • Perform wound care, injections, immunizations, med refills, patient calls and triage.
  • Assist with minor procedures and healthcare assessments when needed.
  • Enjoy talking with patients and learning new skills and diseases.
  • Demonstrate a high level of critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Work with a strong sense of urgency due to patients' acuity level.
  • Exhibit strong multi-tasking skills and can work at any pace.
  • Be team-oriented, have a positive and easy-going attitude, be compassionate and dependable, and enjoy learning!
