About The Position

Medical Assistant – Harris Ortho and Sports Medicine is a full-time position, Monday – Friday, 8a-5p. Harris Regional Medical Center is part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network. This role is within a busy, well-established Orthopedic and Sports Medicine practice with an expanding Provider list, treating patients ranging from toddlers and up, focusing on both acute and chronic orthopedic conditions. The team strives for a family-like atmosphere with supportive staff, caring about employees individually while maintaining high quality professionalism and expertise.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, required
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), within 90 days of hire.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Nice To Haves

• Previous medical office experience, preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of provider, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
• Monitors and communication regarding changes in patient condition.
• Documents patient care given.
• Maintains examination areas.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
• Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
• Completes other tasks, within scope of position, as delegated by the practice leads, supervisors, managers or Market Director.
